Heaven on Earth

And that is the only way to describe Herron Island in the Puget Sound, just west of Tacoma.

But first …. I need to back up to Monday, Labor Day, when I flew up to Seattle.  Great flight, including having no one seated next to me.  I felt safe and comfortable.

Of course Jewelz picked me up and we headed straight to her lovely condo.  She has THE BEST BALCONY, up in the trees in Redmond.

So we settled in with wine and never ventured out.  Needless to say, a good time was had by all, except for her neighbors, I’m certain.

Moving just a little slower than usual on Tuesday morning, we hit the road around 1pm.  It took us only 2 hours to work our way through Pacific NW traffic to get to the 4pm private ferry.

Look at our weather!

It only took a few minutes to cross and then drive to our cabin home

Jewelz did a FABULOUS job setting up our kitchen (she LOVES doing that) and I explored our beach

47 steps to the water
Yes we have a small boat, kayaks, and paddle boards but we are VERY chilled on our deck
Hard to get motivated …. the water sounds are mesmerizing….

That is, until the deer showed up. Feeding the deer is “the thing” to do here. The cabin owner even provides food for them. But Jewelz brought apples and she was so happy when they came to visit!

It didn’t get truly dark here until around 8:30 and we were gifted with THE BEST sunset.

It just kept getting better with time

We had intentions of watching a scary movie around 11:30, but the relaxation just took over ….

THIS place truly is Heaven. So grateful to be here for 3 nights. Everybody please stay safe wherever you are.
