Pismo Paradise

The first day of Autumn, 2023, felt like the perfect day to fly to the Central Coast to visit my family. My gut feeling was correct.

I spent Saturday enjoying Eric, Amber, Nita and (Uncle) Gary. That’s my nephew, his wife, her mom, and my brother-in-law. And as true to form, we had TOO MUCH FUN!

Eric and Amber took me to their Moose club, where we played the California Lottery, HOTSPOT. We all won!
Back at their house I got to see my Uncle Gary.
We went BACK to The Moose the next day for Sunday breakfast, and I got VERY LUCKY again. Two 4 spots right in a row!!

I love my mantra …. Everything Always Works Out For Me”. Try it …. it works!

That same afternoon, I picked up my big sister, Kathy, and we spent 2 glorious days at Shorecliff Hotel …. my adopted CA home.

We had a 2 bedroom suite with two balconies. We couldn’t be any closer to the surf.
Neither one of us are fancy foodies, so this was perfect for our 2 days along with full breakfast from the hotel. It paired perfectly with our wonderfully honest conversations.

Talk about sleeping well … the surf here is almost deafening. And with our ability to keep our doors open …. this is Heaven to me.

And then ….whales galore!

Kathy and I have decided this is now OUR place (instead of just mine), so we will be back. We are already looking at our calendars ….

I took Kathy back to her place in San Luis Obispo and picked up my years-long friend, Deb Carnsew. Now this is our 4-day vacation together.

It is a 30 minute walk on the beach down to Pismo and the pier. We stopped at Wooly’s on the water for a CAN of chardonnay!

Deb really brought the warm weather with her from Tucson. It was quite toasty on Tuesday.

After a well needed shower, we went next door to Ventana for dinner.

Gin martinis all around!

We each had a fabulous appetiter (shrimp cocktail and calamari) and found ourselves FULL. So we wrapped it all up with a glass of red wine and ….

Oh good LORD! But we ate it all!

It was a relaxing first day together. I’m looking forward to 3 more days AND nights!

        Sweet! You shared my blog with them. I thought I signed up for their newsletter, but haven’t gotten anything. I will do it again. I still haven’t booked our excursions, but will in the next couple days.

  6. You two are having a wonderful trip I’m sure! Thank you for helping me encourage her into taking this trip! Deb sounds so relaxed on the phone and I know she is having the time of her life. She needs more of this, after all that is what your supposed to do when your retired, right?
