Being on a cruise makes me a little brain dead. Sitting in the LA airport as I write this, I’m challenged to remember what Thursday – Saturday consisted of.
I know we docked in the super industrial port of Mazatlan on Thursday. Joe and I booked the Salsa and Salsa excursion which left the ship at 10:15. Only a slight issue …. it was raining! And substantial enough to get us wet while being transported to the event in a windowless trolley! But gratefully the event was IN a resort on the beach. It was very well attended and really fun.
The organizers had 8-top tables, with 4 couples on each. We could consume all the margaritas we wanted while each couple prepared two different margs (we liked the strawberry ones) and then FIVE different variations of salsa. Even with Joe being the Salsa King in our world, he picked up a few tips. And of course as the margs flowed, it became even more fun. OLE!!

I was impressed with how they managed the ingredients (and the mess) at each table as we progressed. It was very well done. And outside of the room, the rain continued.

Then the real challenge began …. learning how to dance the salsa. I’m grateful there are no photos of that, but we did LAUGH! Needless to say, we didn’t win any awards.
Being the 2nd day we came back to the ship quite wet, we were prepared to strip down and relax in our robes. But we did rally and went to a comedy act, followed by dinner in The Local, and of course a little gambling. Or should I say contribution to the casino.
The last and third port was Friday in Cabo San Lucas. SUNSHINE! It was a beautiful day, albeit a short visit (we had to be back to the ship by 2pm). But of course we found time for a Bloody ….

Afternoon naps on the ship are a MUST, especially when the ship is rocking. I don’t think we missed a day of that decadence.
Friday evening, Joe saw The Beatles Experience, Eric gambled, and Amber and I went to The Jersey Boys Broadway show. We only had one word for that experience…. WOW!! Especially since we were in the FRONT ROW. Incredible talent!

Our last full day on Saturday brought LOTS of wind and chilly air. So that meant 4000 passengers were all INSIDE the ship as the wind on the decks clocked at 55mph. So what was there to do but eat, drink, nap, and gamble? See a pattern?
Joe and I tried our hand at Deal or No Deal again. No Deal for us on that or on Bingo. And we didn’t win the Free Cruise for Two, either (even though let’s be real …. a “free cruise” still costs money).

The highlight of the day was having our final night dinner at Cagney’s Steakhouse with Eric and Amber. Delicious food, lots of laughs, and this to wrap it up ….

As ALL of us were finally satiated, we said our goodbyes and headed to our cabins for the final sleep.
Eric and Amber walked their own bags on and off the ship so they could just crash. We had to have our luggage outside of our cabin by 9pm. But we still fell fast asleep with the help of the rolling sea (slept very well with lots of crazy dreams).
Sunday AM Eric and Amber drove home and arrived by the time we disembarked, rode a bus to LAX, and checked into our flight.

Norwegian scheduled us on a 7:30pm flight, so we bought ourselves a day pass for The Admirals Club. Well worth it to have food and drink available while we waited 7 hours for our flight to Tucson.
But thanks to my traveling education from Dennis, I spotted a 3-hour earlier flight to Tucson and inquired. There were 4 seats left so we put ourselves on standby. And because …. I know everyone is sick of hearing this BUT, “everything always works out for me”, we are ON the earlier flight AND seated together in the exit row”!

We are home 2.5 hours ahead of schedule and with our checked bags!
Trip was great AND
