After watching 3 or 4 movies, eating, drinking, and napping on the long haul from Seattle, we arrived at 7:20 pm, local time. It was an almost uneventful trip except for my broken tray and arm rest, which caused my wine to slide off my tray and soak me and my neighbor to the right. Then the woman behind us realized that it ran between the seats and into her stuff under our seats. Delta was quite apologetic and gave us each 5000 miles. That certainly helped. Needless to say I had to be quite the juggler while eating after that early on incident.
It was also interesting to realize we followed the sun all the way here. Leaving Seattle at 5:05, and then arriving here at 7:20, it felt like a 2.5 hour time warp. It was dusk when we arrived. And we felt great …. for a 26 hour journey, we don’t look half bad.
It took 3 more hours to de-plane et al, meet up with our tour company, and drive an hour to our hotel in HEAVY traffic. It is a LOVELY place …. pics tomorrow. In bed now, post unpacked and showered, and writing this on my Samsung S6 using Express VPN and Wi-Fi in our room.
WHAT A WORLD!
Up early for our first tour day starting at 8am. Chopsticks at breakfast at 6 …. WISH ME LUCK!
