To Tiananmen Square

The Gate of Heavenly Peace, a gate on the southern wall of The Imperial City, was built in 1415, during the Ming Dynasty.  Seems like a funny name when one considers what happened here on June 4, 1989.  Of course, there was NO mention of that from our guide.

The Square is SO HUGE that any pictures are impossible unless we were flying over it.

But here we are on the east side in front of the National Museum of China, one of the largest museums in the world, even though our guide said it was THE largest in the world.

We were told not to discuss politics.
