Oh wow … I never knew what fun rebounding is! I’m probably one of the few people that hasn’t attended a Rebound Class (except for Dennis). I certainly know what they are because after they were invented in the 70’s, my Mother got one. We all thought she was a little nuts and we were concerned that she’d fall off and hurt herself. Looking back (oh good Lord … that is over 40 years ago) I remember it being quite small and it looked a little dangerous.
But this morning I decided to attend the Rebound and Recharge Class at 9AM, instructed by this tall, good-looking black man named Edwing. (OK … the good looking instructor did help to draw me there).
In case you don’t know, this is what they look like. They come in different sizes, too. Basically, it’s a mini trampoline.

So we started out the class, outside, and kinda easy. It was a little challenging for me to bounce and move while holding my balance (balance is already not my strong suit but SO IMPORTANT as we age). But once I got started, and WITH THE FUN MUSIC, I had a ball! And let me tell you, it is a workout. It’s a lot like Zumba, but the music is not as loud and the lack of pounding on my joints was very well accepted by my 64 year old body. And Edwing was sweating just as much as we were!
As with anything, opinions of the benefits are debated. Discounting the doubters, benefits are strengthened cells (due to gravity changes and pressure and LOTS of oxygen), increased lymph flow and immune system function, good for the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, much less strain on joints and soft tissue, and for your balance? OH GOOD LORD! We did one set of movements that I will add to my yoga class that I can’t even do very well on the floor!

And lookie here …. after only one class I already look like this!
Well … we must keep a positive attitude.
Bottom line is I think a rebounder would be AWESOME to have at the end of our pool. And no, Carrie and Cindy, we would NOT dive into the pool from the rebounder!!
Local friends … let’s save the floatie chairs as reward AFTER we rebound!
Here’s to TOO MUCH FUN ahead!

Yep, under a less fancy name, used for CORE balance strengthening- a staple in most gyms
I had a little one for years in Denver. You can also use those little platforms on a ball for balancing.
Your lymphatics are another physiological system entirely
Happy bouncing!

How fun! And, OK, you’re right, the notion of diving from that mini trampoline into the pool sounds pretty exciting!!!

Ohmigoodness! The little trampoline. We – and the neighbors – had more darned fun on that thing. And we all lived to tell the tale.
You guys are almost halfway home. I think of you every single day. Dennis, how are you feeling?
I love you both –

My absolute favorite cardio!!! Yep…We could be twins now… and it only takes 1 workout! ;0} I have rebounded since the early 80’s. Great on my ski-trashed joints. I have worn several of them out and finally stepped up to the Urban Rebounder System, (less at Amazon than I paid at Big 5), and they have a stabilizer bar if you feel you want to use that. I’ve never become bored over the years.

Oh wow … I didn’t even THINK about using it that way. It sure is fun to move and dance on. It DEFINATELY challenges my balance.

Dang HBC2 ~ you look MARVELOUS darling! I’ve always want to try Rebound but since I don’t belong to a “gym” I haven’t tried it. Did you like it? I MISS you Alex. I probably should just purchase one from Amazon as your friend Mel.
Can’t wait til you’re home and we can hear all about your journey.
I LUV U GUYS❣️❣️

Hi Carrie and Tony!
Check to see that you don’t get one with metal springs…they snap pretty easily, and you get a real “heart in the throat” rush when a spring fails in mid bounce. Urban Rebounders are built sturdy with no metal springs…and they have other +’s too!
Happy Bouncing!
