Our family moved from Baltimore, Maryland to Corte Madera, in Marin County, in 1966. WHAT PERFECT TIMING. I was 12 years old, just coming into myself, at THE most amazing time. Flower Power, love, peace, flowers in my hair …. all of the glittery sparkly FUN without any of the drugs. I was blessed.

And my big bro, Steve, still lives in Corte Madera. I was so excited to spend 2 days with him.

… on Thursday morning and headed straight up to the Calistoga Spa

So comfortable and unpretentious. We dropped our stuff in our shared room and headed off to lunch.

And we talked. And we talked. And we talked some more.

Around sunset we finally decided we’d better get in the mineral pools!

We closed the pools at 11pm and believe it or not, we talked SOME MORE until 3am! THREE AM!

Gee whiz, Steve. We better see each other more often with all THAT to talk about!

After only a few hours sleep, we soaked in the pool again in the morning before checking out at 11am. Yes … we need TWO nights next time!

Steve then went ABOVE and BEYOND by taking us home the LONG way …. along the ocean and Hwy 1! And it was SUNNY! What a gorgeous but tedious drive for him. I was so appreciative.

Late afternoon we stopped at Nick’s Cove for a bite to eat

…and then we STILL had quite the drive to go.

We made it back to my Air BnB in Sausalito and Steve helped me get settled in. Best part…. I walked into the place and the clock in the kitchen said 5:55. HI DENNIS, HI MOM. All is Well.

Suffice it to say, this place is DROP DEAD GORGEOUS.
