What a better place to share my thoughts about the recent events in the world, and the resulting effects, including travel bans, than on my travel blog. 

My original intent for this post was that it was going to be about my trip to Italy with my dear friend, Ivonne (we were scheduled to leave this Saturday).  But like many, many people, blessed enough to even be able to travel, our trip was cancelled.  Yep ~ it’s not all about me.  It’s not even about you.  IT’S ABOUT ALL OF US. 

If you follow astrology, you may already know that the prediction for 2020 has been MASSIVE CHANGE.  It started in January with a conjunction of Saturn and Pluto, with the remaining days of 2020 to include more intense conjunctions that are too complicated for me to explain or even understand myself.  But the message is clear:  2020 will be a year of intense change and a threshold that we all must cross, if we choose to stay here.  And just like the birth of a baby, it’s painful and scary.  This year has been described as a pause between the way things have been, and the way they will be.  And yes, all you boomers …. if you hear the song The Age of Aquarius playing in your head, then indeed, The Time is Now.     

As chaotic and scary as COVID-19 is, I personally think it’s happening for a reason.  And I also believe that if we will take a breath, stop watching the news 24/7, and use this time to consider making positive choices and changes in our own life, then we WILL come out the other end healthier, kinder, and ready to embrace the Truth that WE ARE ALL ONE.  And, if I dare say so, if this virus brings the end of life for one of us or one of our loved ones, let’s all remember that NONE of us will live forever in this body.  That’s just the bottom-line truth of being human.  Dennis ~ I understand even more now that you knew what was coming and you made your choice 17 months ago.   I Love You and accept your choice.      

I think the coronavirus is a great teacher to make us finally understand that what affects one of us, also affects everyone around us.  WE ARE CONNECTED.  WE ARE ONE.  And this global pandemic may prove to be The Perfect Teacher of this Truth. 

Personally, feeling this way brings me comfort.  There IS a REASON for all of this.  I’ve said for years that the only way humanity would ever make a positive change is if the whole system crashed, and indeed, it feels like it could be happening now.  

So I for one am choosing to not freak out, to not stock up on toilet paper, to turn off the incessant media, and instead use this time to be home, quiet, and contemplative.  To more deeply start listening to my heart and my inner calling, and to figure out how I can personally assist myself and those around me while we all travel through the doorway.  I do realize I’m in a blessed (and sometimes lonely) position, but I also think that each one of us are exactly where we’re supposed to be for our own personal growth.  So what can we do?  For me, maybe it’s as simple as CALLING my friends and connecting, which most of you know is a big deal for me as I’m such a techno-texting nerd.  Teaching yoga and creating a peaceful practice feels like a positive gift to others.  I don’t know YET what else I can do to help this process.  But I do invite us all to remember that we are powerful beings, and that the smallest things make the biggest difference.  

And please, let’s get past all of the divisiveness.  Politics don’t matter.  Borders don’t matter.  Skin color doesn’t matter.  WE ARE IN THIS TOGETHER.  ALL OF US.    Think BIGGER.

And since this virus is forcing many of us to stay home, then let’s take advantage of that and slow down, be aware of our feelings and urgings, and most of all, BE KIND to each other.  Help each other.  This time can be very positive.       

I believe we all chose to be here now, and we can all bring something to the table to help the greater good.  Each of us, sharing our unique and special gifts, can help those around us to better navigate this massive shift.
