Changes and Choices

I’m in the Seattle Airport as I write this, eagerly awaiting my direct flight back to Tucson.   I typically love to get to the airport early, especially in Seattle, due to the amazing seafood here.  But it seems that COVID has ruined that, too, with many restaurants closed or not even serving food.   And looking outside reminds me again of what interesting and distressing times these are.  The stark contrast of the smoky air after being in such pristine beauty is a shock to my system.

So I’d like to remedy that, if even in a small way, by sharing some beautiful images from Herron Island.  I did take the time to walk and explore the island and I’m so grateful that I did.  I hope this brings you some pleasure ….

See top left where our cabin was located
What kind of tree is this?
So charming!
Love the trees!
Hhhmmm …. not everyone has a beautiful home on the water
This would be more my style
Or this one
I took some of Dennis’ ashes with me and found this cool shell which I used as a vehicle to release him into the water
Dennis was a creative guy …. he would have liked this artwork
My Twin Soul hanging around!
Ah …. I think the deer got hooked on Jewelz’s apples

We were SO BLSSSED with the weather and lack of smoke. When we awoke on our final morning the smoke had descended upon us. That made it so much easier to leave this incredibly peaceful place.

As for choices, I would not want to LIVE here. Jewelz and I agree that we are both “convenience girls”. The lack of ANY services on the island would not work for us. And having to line up and HOPE to get on the scheduled car ferry would get old fast.

We got to the ferry 40 minutes early and were the 10th car in line. The ferry we caught held ELEVEN vehicles.

But as a special vacation spot …. it’s hard to beat.

May we all find Peace in our own home and community with family, friends, and even strangers …. those folks we just haven’t met yet.

Find, Feel, and Share The Love

Dear Dianna, good to hear from you through your freebirds email. I’m very happy that you are doing well and enjoy yourself by traveling around; and a new man in your life, that makes me happy. Hope to meet him one day. I don’t remember if I told you, but last January I moved away from Sacramento to Meadow Vista which is about 10 miles east of Auburn, a small community ,very quiet and beautiful. I’m moved here because I was asked by a group of investors to open a coffee shop here. it took a long time to get all the permits but finally we’re moving forward with the build out of the store. we hope we will be open by this coming January.

if you like we can talk on the phone one of this day, you know how much I dislike computer communication. give me a day& time that works for you.

    much love Ettore

I’m with you – I can’t imagine living without some of the many conveniences I’ve become accustomed to including strong Wi-Fi and Amazon delivery! Shoot, it was hard enough to get used to the idea of not being able to have something delivered 2 hours from when I wanted it when we moved here!

But what a beautiful place to UNPLUG! Can’t beat that!

I wondered if the smoke was there. We haven’t seen the sun here, except for yesterday, in about a week.

Curious…did you see the downtown where the protests were? Was there a lot of destruction? Or a little?

Glad you had a nice time and are home SAFE.

  3. No, we didn’t go NEAR downtown. Just drove straight back to Jewelz’s condo after the island, and then I took an Uber directly to the airport.

Big cities are not my thing. I was really impressed how DARK it was here when I drove home from the Tucson airport!

God’s country for sure, but I agree. I’d need some amenities (such a spoiled, entitled thing to say) close by.

We would LOVE to catch up with you soon. It appears there have been some momentous changes in your life recently??? 😉❤!

Love you so much Di –

    XOXO,
    Deb
