Day 6: June 8 2023
I dragged myself out of bed this morning and decided to prepare myself immediately for our 8:30am Greek Cooking excursion on Mykonos. As I was sipping my cappuccino, I heard the announcement saying the wind and waves were too severe to safely tender to Mykonos. Instead, we went 28 miles west of Mykonos to Syros. And we would be docked there until 4pm.
To be honest, I personally was OK with the change. With all the traveling I have done over the years, I would typically need a “day off” after about a week. This trip is no different as I left a week ago today. So I just went back to bed and slept for another hour plus.
This became my “me day”. I did leave the ship and I explored the harbor area of Syros.

After a scrumptious salad lunch (even fancy and rich food becomes too much after a week), I decided to treat myself to an hour of spa treatments. IT WAS HEAVENLY. I had a body exfoliation, neck and back massage, and a facial. She gave me an extra 10 minutes because she also worked on Kristen (or so she thought). Or my body simply needed extra help! Whatever the reason, it was fabulous and needed.

We did make the move from Syros to Mykonos at 5pm instead of 4. It took about an hour to move to the Mykonos dock.
While the ship relocated, the crew put on a Greek BBQ poolside.

The ship provided bus transport to the main port, so we all went over. We had to at least set foot on Mykonos, so we made the most of our brief time.

Pete, Lynda, and I watched the show entitled “Odyssea”. We had FRONT row seats, and it was just amazing to see their costumes and dancing. Very impressive.
One more day on the cruise. Tomorrow we go to Milos and do a beach excursion. It will be our first time in the water!

What a beautiful church! I am really enjoying following along on your trip! Love and Light!🖖🏼🌈💖

Funny, we almost didn’t get to see Mykonos for the same reason! So glad you were able to see the sun set at one of the most magical beaches. I think I could spend a whole week there!
