Milos, Greece — last day

Day 7:  June 9 2023

Our last day …. with chores.  How am I going to get all my stuff (plus a few new things) all packed up again?  I tried NOT to think about it in the morning, but you know me ….

The day started with some bummer news …. Holli isn’t feeling well, so she and K did not go on The Amazing Beachs tour with us in the morning. 🤧😪

We tendered from the ship to a small bus.  First stop:  Sarakiniko Beach

Such a barren landscape
One CAN walk down to the inlet, swim, explore caves, and wander down shore.  But when on a timed excursion, options are limited
See the 2 tiny people top left?
Solitude
Who doesn’t LOVE that sound?

We only stayed 45 minutes with the instruction NO SWIMMING.  If I ever do come back to Milos, I would spend several hours here.

We were then transported to THE beach that I will dream about.  Papafragas Beach

For me, this really IS The Ultimate Beach Bar.  I ordered a margarita, but it certainly was not like our Cadillacs, Joe.
My wheels were turning; dreaming of redecorating my back patio.
The pics don’t do it justice.  It was like a private paradise
Very few people!!  So peaceful
Even though we were only here for an hour and a half, I had to rent this cabana.  And it had a Cabana Man!
Oh yes, WE FOUND OUR BLISS
And apparently, so did Pete
The perfect last experience in Greece
Dennis was with us.  Lynda scattered some of his ashes

With a big sigh, we came back to the ship.  I ceremoniously savored the last glass of wine from Beth Ann’s cabin gift and contemplated my last afternoon on board.

Thanks again, girl

I thought I should eat first before tackling my over packing, so I  went up to lunch.  My inner voice  said, “Have yourself a lovely last lunch in the dining room, not the buffet,” so I did!  I ended up with my favorite waiter, JoJo, and I sat like a mature travel writer enjoying her meal, solo.

Ice cream and Prosecco …. life is short.  WHY NOT?

We rose the anchor at Milos and started our overnight trek to Athens.   I had an hour to myself at the aft to soak it all in.

Then, the dreaded task began.  Oh, good Lord, I am 69 and have traveled much of the world.  And I STILL overpack????

But I have kept Dennis’ tradition of The Packing Party!

Our last supper with our Egyptian waiters, Tarek and Moslem.  Wonderful men who took very good care of us.  Another yummy meal …

Forgot to take the main meal pics
But of course dessert is my favorite

And of course …. THIS

Carpe Momento

What beautiful beaches and such a calm sea. Those gentle waves are so calming. Once again it all looks amazing. Even more amazing would be a picture of all your “stuff” making it into that small suitcase!😁
