Bye bye Greece, hello Italy

All good things must end, and our cruise is no exception.

Good Morning America, ah no, Greece

I had my last lovely meal, on the Crystal ship, in the dining room for breakfast.  I’m glad I could say goodbye to our waiter, JoJo.

Compared to a large ship, the disembarkation was fast and smooth.  We jumped in a taxi and SPED to the airport. Kristen, Holli and I felt like we were on another thrilling excursion! Our driver beat the driver who drove Lynda and Pete.

It was a L O N G day in the Athens Airport. We arrived at 9:30am and got settled in our Easy Jet seats, bound for Naples, Italy, at 3:15pm. Unfortunately, this was the only connection possible, but we made the most of our time at the airport.

Another good Greek beer
You crazy chicks!
Look what we found at the airport!
I led the ladies in a chair yoga session. It actually felt REALLY GOOD!!!
Pete did his own chair exercise
Ah, gotta be fair with the unflattering sleeping pictures. Geez …. I’m STILL hanging onto my phone!
After 6 hours in the airport, we were very happy to finally be on our way.
The girls didn’t sleep until they got on the plane
It took less than 2 hours to fly from Athens to Naples

Thanks to Beth Ann’s help again, she arranged for us to be transported to our hotel in Massa Labrense, a little south of Sorrento. The city of Naples is not very attractive. But after emerging from a VERY LONG tunnel, we found ourselves in breathtaking beauty!

Sorrento, Italy

The drive took about an hour until we arrived at our home away from home for the next 3 nights.

Hotel Delle Palma, Originally built in the early 19th century
After picking up a glass of wine in the bar, we descended the marble steps to the pool.
I know this sounds crazy, but I had a distinct feeling of being Gina Lollabrigida. She did just pass away in January of this year.
Another major plus of being here …. this village is LITERALLY right outside the front of the hotel.
Our first Italian dinner
The chianti was so good compared to THE GALLO on the ship!
Too much food, as usual. The pizzas were only around 8 Euros!!

After our long travel day, we all crashed out before 10pm (which was really 11pm Athens time). I slept the best I have the entire trip …. I scored an 88 on my FitBit!!
