Super Bowl 2024 …. On a cruise ship?

Yep …. that is in my future.  Because Joe and I fly to LA this Sunday to board the Norwegian Bliss for a 7-day Mexican Riviera cruise to Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlán, and Cabo San Lucas.  And as synchronicity would have it, Joe’s Chiefs and my Niners will battle it out while we set sail south.

Now I wouldn’t blame anyone for busting me on my comments from my last post, (just a month ago), when I questioned wanting to travel.  I am as confused as anyone!  But this trip has been in the works for a while and once you put the money down, it’s a go. Besides … with this being the 13th cruise of my life, it’s obvious that I rarely turn down a boating opportunity.

We’ll cruise with my nephew and his wife, Eric and Amber.  In fact, it was their invitation several months ago that got this ball rolling. I cruised with them in Nov 2019, also to Mexico, and had a great time. So why not do it again?

Thanksgiving 2019 with the Cali Crew: Eric, Amber, me, “Uncle” Gary, and Nita. It was a fun trip except for getting the Norovirus!

Joe, my ETNM, was a Navy sailor on the USS Saratoga in the 70’s, but has never been on a commercial cruise.  With this being a big year for both of us turning 70, I figured it was time to make this happen.

GRATEFULLY they removed Ensenada as a stop, so we have 3 glorious days at sea.  And yes, WE HAVE A BALCONY.  Our weather timing is perfect since we are a week past the atmospheric river that just hit California.  Keeping my fingers crossed that some crazy weather pattern doesn’t pop up.  These days, anything can happen.

But first things first …. THE GAME.  I actually am not even a football fan but I must root for the Niners since I was born just outside of San Francisco.  And besides, some loving competition with Joe is always fun!

I hope to post during the week but I will have limited WiFi on the ship. However, I love writing and photography so much that I would bet you’ll hear from me.  ESPECIALLY if the Niners win!

Bon voyage!

Joe was a Second Class Petty Officer, an Aviation Structural Mechanic. Served from Aug 1973-1977
My first cruise, all the way down to Acapulco! Nov 2002 when Dennis turned 50.

And if you want to feel like you’re with us in Spirit, check this out!

Almost like being there!!!

Love You Baby and Very excited about this, Mainly being with you! Now all I have to do is get out of the snow and on to your place. Is the snow a sign?? Doesn’t matter I will cruise right through it and see you a bit later. Joe
