From snow to sea

How crazy to be packing in Tucson on Saturday and it snows! But then again ….it is Gem Show time here in the Old Pueblo and the show vendors frequently have the worst weather luck.

Our Santa Rita Mountains

What a week we have ahead of us …. Super Bowl, Fat Tuesday, Ash Wednesday, and Valentine’s Day!  Eric and Amber do know how to pick the auspicious time to cruise.

Our 8am flight to LA was on time and easy.  But now that we’re here …. The Hurry Up and Wait begins.

We rode 2 different buses, just to get from the plane to the terminal.  Then we waited (patiently) for our transport to the ship to arrive.  There is nowhere to sit … we were told they removed them all so homeless would not camp in baggage claim.  And it was COLD.

It is pretty amazing to consider the logistics of cruise turnaround.  They must scurry 4000 people off the ship, clean 2,220 cabins, and then herd 4000 people back on.  But considering that 65,000 people will attend The Super Bowl tonight, 4000 people doesn’t seem that bad.

Finally on the bus!  We got to the port at 11:30

Had great fun watching the Super Bowl in the casino bar.  Needless to say a good time was had by all!

I was decked out for the win
But Joe took the prize

Slept SO well on the 14th deck.  Love the motion of the ocean!

Monday morning found us walking, exercising, exploring, napping and hot tub.

Monday …. A relaxing day at sea

Late dinner tonight with Eric and Amber at the steak house.

And of course … the casino!

I trust THEY are winning.  Not so with Joe and me …. YET
