Heading to San Carlos and the beach!

I loved strolling into this lovely courtyard at La Mansion in Alamos to enjoy our morning coffee.

The food here was really good.  Today’s breakfast included a meatless tamale, potatoes, egg casserole, and banana bread.  I couldn’t eat it all.

We had a local guide lead us on a 90-minute walking tour of Alamos, and he shared some history and highlights of the town.

In 1630, Jesuit missionaries built an Adobe church where Iglesia de Alamos now stands. This church was built from 1786 – 1826.

Unfortunately, there are no remnants of the original church.  But our local guide got married in this church!
Beautiful tower and I love the trees with the pots
After the 1683 discovery of gold and silver, Alamos thrived as a mining and religious center for many years.  This is the original gazebo where young people came to meet their mates.

We also walked down Kissing Alley, but I was too busy kissing Joe to take a picture!  🙊🙉🙈

Our hotel was next door to the government building

It’s a little hot here, too, so I was grateful to return to our room to shower before we ate AGAIN.  Tacos this time!

This was also the first morning after a one-night stay where we didn’t have to have our bags packed and at our door at 7am.

On the almost 4 hour ride to San Carlos, we passed this HUGE statue of a Mayo Deer Dancer.

Very impressive!
We finally arrived at the coast.  Today seemed like a L O N G bus ride
We were blessed with a suite
View from our balcony
Oh, how I LOVE marinas!
Oh, our dinner this night.  Tuna!  This restaurant is owned by the same people who shared their mansion with us the other day

The moon was so pretty last night as we walked back to the hotel after dinner.  I’m looking forward to it being full on Thursday morning, the final day of our trip. Maybe that’s a sign that it’s time to go home.

All good things must end.
