What an incredible world at 34,000 feet! I’m feeling extremely blessed on this 27-hour journey to Australia.
We left Tucson on time at 5pm on Tuesday. You probably won’t believe this, but Ivonne and I did NOT have the traditional Bloody Mary before we boarded. Geez, have we finally figured out our bodies? But we did enjoy a Prosecco on our short and very bumpy trip to LA. I hope the winds finally died down in Tucson.

Once we landed in the remote American terminal (not my favorite), we took that silly bus to baggage claim and picked up our suitcases. We figured out how to simply walk to the International Terminal and get checked into our Air New Zealand long haul to Auckland.
What an impressive Int Terminal and Star Alliance Lounge in LA!

We enjoyed some yummy bits and NZ wine; I wish we would have had more time there!

But the show was about to begin…. our 13 hour flight bound for Auckland!
I was a little dubious about what their Business Class seats would be like, but I have been pleasantly surprised.
No, it’s not a full pod (that’s on my Bucket List) but it’s quite comfortable. And the service is first class!

Since we departed at 9pm, dinner was served right away. Now this is for you, Cindy Rabbitt, as I chose this for my dinner ….

Both were DELICIOUS! And let’s not forget the dessert …. berry and white chocolate ice cream with marshmallow and strawberries!
By this time, it was midnight (Tucson time), so it was time to turn in. On demand, an attendant converted my seat into a comfortable bed! This has not been the smoothest of flights, so I was rocked to sleep. My FitBit has a different opinion about my slumber, but when I got up at 6am, I FELT GREAT! What a wonderful alternate reality this is!

As usual, everyone is done with breakfast, and I’m still eating and blogging. But I need to finish as we’re landing in Auckland in less than an hour!

I have THOROUGHLY enjoyed this flight. Having WiFi has been fun. None of the entertainment interested me, so I’ve turned to my blogging.
We still have 2 more flights and 10 hours (with layovers) to go. We won’t be in fancy seats on the next flights, so I’ll probably watch movies then.
My only problem with long distance traveling is figuring out the date and time. For you guys it’s 9am Wednesday and we are now 5am THURSDAY. Or something like that.
Whatever, I was born for this ….

You are so adorable! Sounds like a fantastic start to your adventure!🖖🏼❤️🌈
