What a unique experience today was as we traveled north towards the top of Iceland.

It took all morning to get to the farm, but we drove through some gorgeous and different scenery. And look at the sky!

We arrived at noon after a couple of pit stops; one of which I did NOT get out of the bus because it was crazy rainy and windy!

After arrival at the Daeli Guesthouse, we had a simple and yummy lunch of soups, homemade bread, and a sweet. Then we were off to meet their Iceland horses.

We then travelled out to his trees, of which on his 1000 acres, he and his father have planted 250,000 larch trees in 25 years!! The government pays for the trees because they are good for the environment, they help to block the brutal wind, and the wood is needed.

We then visited the farmer down the road to get his perspective on being a farm owner in Iceland. I was mostly impressed with the location of his farm ….

We got settled in our rooms and then met at 4pm for Happy Hour.

Everyone returned to their cabins after dinner, but I just had to stay up a little while longer to watch the clouds and the final light of the day.

This area is so hauntingly beautiful with the wind that I had a hard time letting go.
SO I DIDN’T. Tonight was a once-in-a-lifetime moment for me to be outside and alone, in the countryside of Iceland, watching the night and feeling the wind. I lay on the picnic table, right outside of my cabin, and watched the clouds clear out until I could see the Milky Way! It was reminiscent of the nights Dennis and I slept at the bottom of the Grand Canyon. The clouds moved back in and I thanked God for the opportunity to be here.
I LOVE ICELAND.

So cool and amazing!
Trees! I was starting to think that there weren’t any there!

I think this is my favorite, aside from the puffins of course. I love learning about Iceland from afar! The horses, the Northern lights, the weather, the accommodations, the food, everything! It’s so fascinating. Thank you so much for sharing this with us, I absolutely love it! ?????? And I’m so glad to know that you’re having a wonderful time! Carpe Memento, my TS!
