Yes, here I go again. Wait …. didn’t I say I was done with traveling and wanted to stay in my Home Sanctuary? Well, that was yesterday and today is NOW. I don’t EVER want to get stuck in something I was feeling YESTERDAY. Life is changing way too fast to get stuck ANYWHERE.

Maybe going around the sun one more time has jarred something loose. Yesterday was my 72nd birthday, and my dear friend, Marty, told me that 72 is the new 45. I’m not sure if THAT is true, but I feel pretty damn good, even after being recently diagnosed with another breast cancer. I survived 19 years after the last mass was removed and zapped. This one is half the size and not scary to me AT ALL. That’s why I’m off on another adventure to CARPE MOMENTO!

This trip in a nutshell … I’m going with my fellow 72 Chick (Dennis’ sister, Lynda, and her man, Pete) and my dear friend, Ivonne. We all traveled together in August 2024 when we did a combo sea and land trip on Princess to Alaska.

This trip we are flying into Barcelona for 3 days (just like the song, I’ve never been to Spain), then embark on the Oceania Sirena (only 670 passengers with guest-to-staff ratio of 1.71!), and then spend 3 days in Rome.

This trip SHOULD be EASY compared to the MASSIVE New Zealand and Australia trip that Ivonne and I did back in April 2025. That trip included TWELVE FLIGHTS in 16 days! 72 may be the new 45, but I’m wise enough to not push myself that hard again.

So off we go today, Tucson to Chicago, on United. God willing, we will land in Barcelona around 1pm on Saturday. And time zones? We will be 9 hours ahead of the west coast.

It feels very special to leave on the Full Flower moon, which is actually the first of 2 full moons in May (the Blue Moon will be May 31st).  I married my late husband on a Blue Moon in August 1993, so I think he’ll be with us. 

But the BIGGEST blessing of being in Spain? IVONNE SPEAKS SPANISH!!!
