The first 24 hours ….

… continues to be memorable.  We LOVED staying at the St Regis and we were able to sleep in until 7am, NY time.

Along with the room came a  ritzy continental breakfast which we thoroughly enjoyed

Great start to our day

It gave us a strong base for exploring 5th Avenue and surrounds.  I had no idea we were right around the corner from Trump Tower

He was everywhere…
We had to check out The Plaza from Home Alone 2.  Quite snobby; we weren’t allowed to use the ladies room
Check out the Louis Vitton building wrap while under construction!
We strolled through Central Park …. picture perfect day!
We walked back from nature to crazy Times Square district.  It felt like Vegas!
Just kept walking and wa la  …. Rockefeller Center!

By this time, our dogs were barking so we found The Pig and Whistle and stopped for an Irish coffee with an old  buddy

Beth Ann had fun talking to the long time owner, Eugene
Walking back through  Rockefeller Center, Beth Ann
told me that the twin towers were 34 floors higher than this building.  I can’t even imagine.

It was time to sadly check out of the St Regis, but not before they sent a dessert up to our suite!

I can’t seem to turn this picture, but it was creme brulee, along with our chocolates from the previous night.  Man, we hated to leave

We took a very slow Lyft ride to our next hotel where we will be for 3 nights:  Delta by Marriott.  This ain’t the St  Regis, but we’re grateful to have a room.  We are on the sixteenth floor, but we’re very close to Times Square so there’s quite a bit of city noise.  We will definitely need our Midnight Monk meditation while sleeping tonight!

The best finale we could ever have for today was this …

We had fabulous seats in the 2nd row of the mezzanine.  The show was indescribably excellent!  We both were overwhelmed and at times even had tears.

We walked all the way back through Times Square to our hotel.  I’m writing this from bed and we are pretty beat;  over 20,000 steps today!

I just might have to buy something that says ….

I LOVE NEW YORK.
