Tuesday in Portland, Maine

But first …. I forgot to post this from yesterday when we were leaving Boston.   The ship in front of our morrage had to BACK OUT, and we sent this message to them as they drifted past …

We’ve been watching The Love Boat every late evening in our cabin!

Today is a very short and chilly day in port (in the 30’s when we docked).  If we were here longer, I would have loved to have seen the famous lighthouse.  But those who know me, know that I also like a down day in the middle of a trip.  We left Tucson a week ago today.

To commemorate, I ate only HALF of my raspberry canoli in bed today with my coffee.

Beth Ann set off early to explore.

Me?  I found a solitary queen chair on the 16th deck, by the inside pool,  with a fantastic view.

I do love writing my blog and its easiest to do if I can find solitary time to write.  This fit the bill perfectly.

Maybe I should have explored the town ….

After Beth Ann returned from her explorations of Portland, we met  on our balcony for room service lunch.

It may be in the 40’s in Portland, but on our sunny balcony, we actually got HOT enjoying our tuna sandwiches and Caesar salad!

We hung out until the ship left port, bound for St John, Canada.  But first …. we sailed right past the lighthouse that I wanted to see!

Beth Ann had another meeting so I tried my luck in the casino.  Bye bye money!

I’ve met some fun people on the ship.  Fun attracts fun, right? I always enjoy meeting fellow travelers.

We had a lovely dinner at Sabatinis.  Being such a typically simple eater,  having food like this is a real treat.

That was pasta under that delicate shell
My dessert
But I liked Beth Ann’s tirimisu better.  I complimented the chef on her dessert and he brought me one

We went back to the room at a decent time because we have an early start in St. John, Canada tomorrow.   We are losing an hour because we will be in the Atlantic time zone.  I’m grateful that the ship changed its time to match local time as the MSC vegan cruise I did in March did NOT do that.  It makes excursion meeting times challenging.

Any thoughts?
