Holli and Kristen were up and gone way early in the morning. Their journey home was scheduled for Frankfurt, then Chicago. I pray their travels are smooth since they had crazy issues on the front end.
I woke up to a text from United: my flight out of Athens is delayed. Not by TOO much, but enough to make my connection in Dulles very tight. I said to H&K yesterday that if I can just get back to the USA safely, then I can deal with whatever from there. WATCH YOUR WORDS.
It took me 45 minutes to get through passport control and security in Athens. Had a scary moment when she looked at my passport …. I don’t have a stamp when I entered Greece! I know I went through that long line when I got here, but I didn’t look at the stamp. I guess I look honest because after some hesitation, she stamped it and let me through. WHEW!
Writing now from Dulles …. we arrived 90 minutes late with a VERY TIGHT connection.
OMG I MADE IT! Thank you, Dennis, for Global Entry! Plus an angel cart man picked me up and drove me all the way down to D11.
I am in my seat and GRATEFUL. I didn’t sleep at all from Athens to here …. 10 hours. Watched 4 movies (I think). It all is blending together. Now I have another 4+ hours to Phoenix where Joe will pick me up. We WERE going to drive home, but we’re both exhausted (him from moving homes) so we’ll crash in Phoenix somewhere.
I’m going to send this from Dulles …. my last leg will be safe, I’m sure.
Everything always works out for me.

LOVED the last two posts! Welcome home!! I have heard it said…’there is no place like home’. Have a happy reunion with Joe!

That would be terrifying in that moment. I think the look on the agents face would be the scariest. lol

Put in 7500 steps just getting unpacked and getting my house back in order. NOW I’m relaxing. Thanks!

Yes, Global Entry is the ONLY way to travel! Saves you hours in lines. Probably was your save with the missing stamp on your passport too! WHEW!

Actually no. I didn’t use the Global Entry until I returned to Dulles 90 minutes late. I would have totally missed my connection without that fast processing.
I was also surprised that traveling between Greece and Italy didn’t require passport control.
