Pismo Friday and Saturday

The final wrap-up days of my 8 day visit to Pismo Beach.

The weather has been so great, so it was really OK to wake up to major fog and overcast on Friday.  I put a YouTube fireplace on the TV and sat back to chill.  It was actually quite cozy.

It did eventually clear up, and realizing I had less than 1000 steps by noon, I set off for a walk to the pier.

I love being under here.  I put some of Dennis’ ashes here on the day I met Joe on Zoosk …. July 4, 2020.
That’s “my” hotel …. Shore Cliff

Eric and Amber invited us to join them at The Moose for cocktails and HOT SPOT.

And we have winners!

I played my same numbers again, and HOLY COW …. I won $275!

The Moose didn’t have enough cash to pay us out, so we had to walk to TWO places to get our money.

Deb was a winner, too
Eric …. maybe not so much.  😦
But me …. none of us could believe it!
This was the nice young man who had enough cash
I decided that the state of California could buy us dinner, so we had a delicious meal at Rosa’s
And since Deb just turned 70, we made a BDay celebration for her.
Why not? It’s a BIG Birthday!

Saturday morning started with rain and extremely calm seas. Actually, the calmest all week! When the rain cleared out, God blessed us with a great view of multiple whales AND dolphins! Deb was so thrilled as she really wanted to see them.

The view from one of our two balconies. Room 212 …. THE BEST!

But all things eventually end, so we got our act together, thanked the room, and checked out.

I wanted Deb to see the Butterfly Grove in Pismo, so we stopped and saw a few butterflies and savored the smell of the eucalyptus trees. Too early to see the migration, unfortunately.

Next time, Deb, next time

Our flight to Phoenix left around 4:15pm, but we had plenty of time to enjoy our “last supper” at the Spirit of San Luis, right next to the airport.

Oh good Lord …. TOO MUCH!

We safely landed in Tucson at 7:30, and I am always BEYOND GRATEFUL when I get home and find that All Is Well. Well, I do have a power issue with my hot tub, and the lock broke on my gate. But as my very wise sister has always told me, “If money can fix it, then it ain’t a problem.”

Nothing in life is perfect. But it doesn’t matter ….

THERE’S NO PLACE LIKE HOME.

My desert paradise.
