A new day begins at Copper Canyon.  From our balcony at El Mirador Hotel

Picture perfect weather.  I did bring too many cold weather clothes because I thought it would be cold here.  But the good thing about getting older is I no longer worry about changing outfits every day.

After breakfast, we took a short drive to a small handcraft market and canyon overlooks.  The scenery is so overwhelming that, like other nature trips, it’s impossible to capture it all.

Copper Canyon actually consists of SEVEN canyons
And yes, the indigenous people, the Tarahumara, live IN the canyon
We rode a cable car INTO the Canyon.
Stunning scenery
Steve and Beth Ann enjoying their lunch.  The food has been very good and filling
At the restaurant we could walk on a glass window hanging over the edge.  Look at that bridge below!
Joe loved the glass window (of course), but it made me a little dizzy
We returned to the hotel, and these 2 tequila bottles on the bar were too much to resist

We had free time in the afternoon,  so we took some time to just chill. It’s been a lot of go-go since we began on early Wednesday, so it felt good to just stop and absorb all we’ve done.

We took a stroll in the afternoon and found the perfect spot to spread some of Dennis’ ashes …

He and I always wanted to visit this place, and now he is here …
We walked further up the ridge, and this woman appeared out of nowhere.  And what did I buy from her?   PURPLE DRINK COASTERS.  Meant to be.

It’s been another beautiful day.  Tomorrow, we have a 6-hour ride on the Chepe Train to El Fuente in the state of Sinaloa.
